Perstorp RME Plant
In Stenungsund, on the Swedish west coast, the RME plant is located. This is Scandinavia's largest RME plant with a capacity of 160,000 tonnes per year. It's on the Perstorp Oxo site, which gives access to steam from the other chemicals production units. Methanol enters by truck and rapeseed oil enters through a pipeline from the port facility a few kilometers. The products are rape methyl ester (RME) and glycerine. The plant is designed to produce clean products, which gives an advantage for both the RME and glycerine.
